1764: Pierre-Simon Fournier le Jeune. 'Manuel typographique'
1764: Pierre-Simon Fournier le Jeune. Manuel typographique. Plate VII. Wilkes (1990, note 95 on page 81) states: 'The mouth (Güsse), bow (Federn) and body (Kerne) are mirrored and the nick (Signature) is on the bottom half - like in the French moulds - and not on the top-half. [Note: Bauer states in 1922 - according to Harry Carter in a long note (pp 378-9) in Moxon - that German moulds have the body on the bottom part on the lefthandside, seen from the inside. Does Wilkes refer to this statement of Bauer?]
